The Maritime Internet access service of Icarusnet is based on a dual technology that covers the extensive footprint of the Ku Eutelsat 33C capacity for the Mediterranean for communications on the move- with the high throughput of the Ka-Sat satellite (up to 20Mbps) when the remote stations are not on the move and in harbours or in pre-defined locations.
The totally automated switching system (embedded in the Ku/Ka dual feed antenna) has the ability to automatically switch between Ku satellite to Ka based on the GPS data and based on the network set up of the client.
